From the mine to the mill.

Nena Steel & Mining participates across the ferrous value chain — from iron ore extraction and concentrate to iron ingots, semi-finished and finished steel products for domestic and international markets.

Overview

Building on one of the world's great iron and steel bases.

Iran holds some of the largest iron ore reserves in the region and ranks among the world's leading steel producers. Our division turns that natural advantage into dependable supply for industrial customers.

We work across mining, beneficiation, trading and distribution, supplying iron ore, concentrate, pellets, iron ingots and steel products under rigorous chemical and dimensional specifications.

Focus on Iran

Iran: one of the world's great iron and steel bases.

Iran ranks among the world's ten largest crude-steel producers and holds some of the largest iron ore reserves in the Middle East. Steel is one of the country's leading non-oil exports, shipped to markets across the Gulf, Asia and Africa.

Unlike most steelmaking nations, Iran produces the majority of its steel through the direct-reduction route. Abundant natural gas is used to convert iron ore pellets into direct reduced iron (DRI), which is then melted in electric arc furnaces — a process with a markedly lower carbon footprint than traditional blast furnaces. Iran is one of the largest DRI producers in the world.

The industry is anchored by major mining districts in Kerman, Yazd and Khorasan, and by large steelmaking clusters in Isfahan, Khuzestan and along the Persian Gulf coast, all connected by rail to the deep-water ports of Bandar Abbas.

Nena Steel & Mining operates along this chain: sourcing iron ore, supplying concentrate and pellets, and trading iron ingots, billets and finished steel products for domestic industry and regional export markets.

FAQ

Questions buyers often ask.

Which products do you supply?

Iron ore (lump and fines), concentrate, pellets, iron ingots, billets and blooms, and finished long and flat steel products.

How are specifications guaranteed?

Each shipment is backed by chemical analysis and, for steel, mill test certificates. Independent surveyors can inspect quality and quantity at loading.

Do you offer term contracts?

Yes. We supply on both spot and term contracts, with volumes and delivery schedules agreed with each industrial buyer.

How is logistics organised?

Products move by rail to the Persian Gulf ports and onward by bulk carrier or container. Our team coordinates the whole chain from port to plant.
